At The Ruff House Stay & Play’s Greenbrier location in Chesapeake, we use training to build a stronger, more confident bond between you and your pet. Our professional training programs are rooted in positive reinforcement, canine confidence-building, and clear communication.
Whether your pup is just starting out or needs some assistance fine-tuning behavior, our experienced trainers are here to guide them, and you, every step of the way.
Training is offered exclusively at our Greenbrier location.
Train & Play: Daily Training + Daycare Fun
Our signature Train & Play program combines the benefits of professional training with the social and physical stimulation of our dog daycare or Enrichment Club programs. It’s the perfect blend of structure and play for dogs who are still learning basic obedience, or who need extra help developing better manners.
Each Train & Play day includes two individual 30-minute training sessions, focused on your dog’s specific needs and your family’s long-term goals. Between sessions, your pup will enjoy group daycare or solo enrichment activities with our staff.
Train & Play is perfect for
- Puppies and younger dogs who require additional confidence before joining group play.
- Dogs that need support with recall, crate training, leash manners, or impulse control.
- Pets that are struggling with behaviors like jumping, excessive barking, or rushing doors.
Dog owners receive an electronic report card after each session, and our trainers are available to help you reinforce progress at home.

- $360 for a 6-day package
- Available Monday through Thursday.
- Participants must attend at least every other week.
- Space is limited and reservations are required.
- Not suitable for dogs with aggression or severe behavioral concerns.

Group Classes for Every Stage
Looking to learn alongside your pup? Our group classes are a fun and social way to strengthen skills and reinforce good behavior with guidance from our expert trainers.
Puppy Class
Held on Saturday mornings, this foundational class introduces socialization, crate training, leash skills, and essential commands. A great first step for young dogs and new pet parents!
Woof High – Intermediate Training
Held Mondays at 6:30 p.m., this class helps dogs sharpen obedience, improve impulse control, and stay focused even with distractions.
Barkvard – Advanced Training
Held Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., this course is designed for experienced dogs ready to tackle advanced commands and real-world challenges with confidence.
